Gerrit Petersons, CFP®

Financial Advisor

WHY I BECAME A FINANCIAL ADVISOR

I grew up in Mechanic Falls, ME, and ventured out of small-town Maine for college and the beginning of my professional career. I found that I enjoyed reading about finance and investing on my own, and when I shared what I knew with friends outside of the investment industry – it became fun to help them. At that point, I began to understand how a financial adviser can help people from all fields and backgrounds to avoid potentially costly mistakes. I enjoy creating and reaching financial goals and evaluating the best course of action along the way as circumstances change. Although I have a distinct love for economics, I found the theories of economics to be more actionable and measurable in the financial field, making it much more rewarding.

5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME

1. I was a history minor in college and forced my bachelor party to escort me to Charleston, SC, for the Civil War history.
2. I am an avid reader, but when I am not reading you will find me hiking, running, or gardening - and usually listening to an audiobook.
3. After a day of cross-country skiing, you will find me recuperating with a martini in my recliner.
4. I lived in El Paso, TX, and could throw a rock into either Mexico or New Mexico.
5. I own a diesel tractor.
